Lupinus Westcountry™ 'Persian Slipper'

Enhance your summer garden with the gorgeous, tall spires of Lupines! These sturdy spikes display beautiful blooms of periwinkle blue and white petals, while the bright green foliage adds a mounding effect to your borders. Their distinct leaflet foliage, ideal for borders, grows best in a deep, slightly acidic soil. After blooming, prune back to 6 inches to rejuvenate the foliage.

Lupinus 'Persian Slipper' is a durable and long-lasting flower that requires ample water during hot summers and is sensitive to lime. Adding peat to the planting hole can aid in their growth if they encounter difficulties. Deadheading to remove any developing seeds can enhance their winter survival rates. Not a good choice for the humid Gulf states. Lupines are shipped during our spring shipping season only. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

For optimal blooming, it is recommended to remove faded flowers. In late July, a 6" trimming may be required and any winter damage should be taken care of in the spring. In colder regions, protecting the plant during winter is advised and applying a thin layer of mulch can be beneficial. While dividing this plant may be difficult due to its deep tap root, spring replanting of side shoots is possible.

All organic regulations are adhered to.
